A picnic by the old windmill

Yesterday one of my friends visited us. The weather was sunny and we decided to have a picnic by the old windmill in my area. I have written about this place before. My husband and I found it by coincidence. It is called Viby windmill and it is located in the northern part of my island. It was built in 1873. It hasn't been used for years, but they renovated it in the 1980s.
We were the only visitors yesterday, and that it was nice because I was able to take photos without getting too close to other visitors. There are no tables near the windmill, but we used a blanket instead. We had sandwiches, cakes and coffee. We talked a lot, and it was nice to see my friend again, we don't see eachother other as often as we used to.

Yes, it was very nice. It was nice to spend time with my friend, and I also enjoyed visiting the place again.

Yes, it is a nice place to have a picnic. I think that more tourists visit the place during the summer months, but right now there aren't many tourists. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere

It is one of my favorite places I love the peaceful atmosphere. I am happy we went yesterday because today it has been raining and we couldn't have done it today.

Viby rings a bell, but I can't say why. I've just checked the map and seen that it is near Aarhus. My school had an exchange programme with Aarhus, so I may have been there. Is there anything to see for tourists besides the windmill or would I have just passed through the town? Whatever, it was about 60 years ago!

This is a different Viby. Many Danish places have similiar names and Viby is one of them. Viby on my island is a village. Besides the windmill there are many old houses and an old church. I know the other Viby you mentioned. I used to work in a nursing home in Viby in the Aarhus area. Viby (Aarhus) is larger than the one on my island.

That is true. There have been fewer people last year and this year. Some places in my country are re-opening now, but many places are still closed. How is the situation is your country?

Yes, it is nice. Some places are still closed, but it is nice to spend time outdoors and I enjoyed the sunny weather.
