The things around me

I have some things around me that carry memories.
I mentioned in my wheelbarrow discussion that I have an old hot water heater from around 1950 that was made into a planter.
It has been around ever since I can remember.
I have a birdbath that was given to me when my children were little. It was from my neighbor who worked at the concrete company. When they had left over mix from jobs they poured planters and birdbaths and such.
There is a lot of power in memories.

Are you taking it with you when you move? I hope you are able to safely keep things.

@GardenGerty The china yes. The cabinet is a gift to my renters. I do have an antique small cabinet that will stay with me. I have been busy trying to dig up things to keep the china in. Gulp- not gotten to where I know how to move the teapots yet.

I'll agree with you on that one.

Yes, it is. Some you can touch as well as treasure.

When my family switched from coal to gas, my father made a planter out of the old water heater, too. It was much narrower than today's water heaters, and made of galvanized steel. The now-planter sat lengthwise next to the garden shed.
Thanks for the memory.

That may be what mine is made of as well. It has a textured outside. I will have to take pictures sometime when I am not in my pajamas.

I have a lot of things in the house which are sentimental to me because of the good memories attached to them.
