I know that many of you have been at the edge of your seats, wondering if Brilla and I made up after our falling out yesterday. I don't feel bad about the wolf mask I made for her. It was the best I could do. But we left each other on tenuous terms yesterday.
To "cut to the chase," that part of my life turned out well today. Brilla was the first kid to give me a hug at the preschool today, and she spent an unusual amount of time either in my lap or next to me, reading a book with me.
But there were some difficult moments. When it was "art time" in the classroom, Brilla asked me to make some clouds on her picture. I did so. I was worried that my clouds might be not to her liking, but they passed inspection.
Then the child next to her was making a wolf tail. I wanted to avoid the subject of wolves, but I was able to help her make a beautiful wolf tail, and Brilla did not object or bring up yesterday's tragedy.
Brilla even allowed me to make some birds on her art work, and then made some beautiful birds of her own.
But my experience at Guitar Center was a little more coarse. I will discuss it in a separate post. I taught music well, but one of my supervisors does not like me, and I am not sure why.
Have you ever had a supervisor who simply did not like you? Tomorrow I get to play with the kids and do not have to deal with Guitar Center.

I feel how passionate are you with your students and I hope your supervisor will not get into you. I can relate to your situation but it's not the superior that dislike me but it's the wife, but I won't let her get into my nerves as she has no business interfering with me anyway.

@TheHorse yes I agree with you. Just continue what's proper unmindful of the irritants.

@florelway If I have to move on, I will do so with pride. But I do not want to abandon the students who enjoy what I am teaching them.

Yes, I did. When I worked for Pizza Hut, I had a manager who wasn't a very good manager. She blamed me because she didn't get her promotion. She later lost her job for some reason.

I used to have people that liked me but think world made me lose my poker face. Its hard to be corporate I guess. I do not know how to do it anymore and maybe guitar center dude is reading that with you. or maybe he is mad Brilla likes you as a teacher and not him. or her.

I am happy that Brilla had a good time there with you. Now I am curious to know what happened there yesterday and so I would be checking your post about it. I would not be comfortable to bring up topics of wolves to a child. So glad that it just passed.
I always had a good relationship with my boss and supervisor. But yes, I had a colleague in last school who could not go well with me. I could not make out what was the issue. And she was my assistant teacher in the Montessori environment I worked. The vibrations were not good and I felt children perceived it. Fortunately, she moved out after six months. I have always got wonderful co workers.

I have had to deal with teachers who are resentful of me. As a "male," I am a rare "father" figure to them. So they seek me out.
The wolf is not a real wolf. It's is a child acting out in Maurice Sendak's classic book, "Where the Wild Things Are."
I urge you to read it slowly, and take in the message.

@TheHorse I read the posts well and sometimes twice if I do not get it. Actually, I misunderstood it as I had missed your previous post and was not aware of the pretext.

How are you making these masks and tails? Out of construction paper? Show us an example.

So glad you and Brilla reconciled. I have no clue why any supervisor wouldn't like you. I'd prefer that everyone like me, but I know there are some who don't. That's their problem.

I'm glad you and Brilla made up. I've had more of a problem not liking my supervisors than them not liking me. Butter him/her up. People like that usually like their egos stroked.
