My Daughter Is My Sister

United States
May 13, 2021 12:09pm CST
My daughter has been on an exercise kick these past few weeks and has been taking the dog for a walk every morning before she starts work. She does this before I even manage to get out of bed. Usually she doesn't encounter anyone on her walk but today she met up with a neighbor who lives on the corner. He's been living here as long as I have and we've had many conversations throughout the years. He's seen both of us together and separately but never said anything about our relationship until this morning. After they had their chat and were parting he said "tell your sister I said hello" When I came downstairs for my coffee, my daughter said "hey sis, Rich says hello" Huh? Apparently he thinks we're sisters (of course that makes me feel good that he thinks I'm young). My daughter isn't too happy because now she thinks he thinks she's old certainly gave me a chuckle

Aww poor girl! I've been mistaken as the sister of a cousin, and my aunt as my mother before.

People make mistakes of this sort all of the time. Glad it was positive.

I had that same problem. There was several people who thought my mother and me was brother and sister.

@Marilynda1225 due to youth when we lived in Thailand, my dad always answered his age as 27. it was a struggle when I turned 28, and my father was a year young than I was!

My husband and I have been called a lot of things over the course of our relationship. So I can see why you'd find that funny.

Om other words good for you bad for her but then again if he thinks you look like sisters it really means your daughter is young-looking and you look just as young.

Responses mean different things to different people. I see no reason to have feelings about what people say,,, or think.
