In 1967 The Monkees seond album More Of the Monkees was at number one on the UK album chart. Only four albums got to the number one spot in 1967 - The Sound of Music spending 17 weeks at the top, The Beatles Sgt, Pepper spending 25 weeks at the top, and The Monkees first and second albums spending 9 weeks at the top. The same year The Supremes were at number one on the US singles chart with "The Happening" It was their 10th US number-one single. In 1970 The Beatles film "Let It Be" had its world premiere in New York City, The film features The Beatles in a rooftop concert which was their last performance in public. In 1978 Bony M was at number one on the UK singles chart with "Rivers Of Babylon" The song stayed at the top for five weeks. The original version was done by the Jamaican reggae group The Melodians and was featured in the 1972 movie "The Harder They Come" In 1988 Scottish band Fairground Attractions were at number on on the UK singles chart with "Perfect" The song won the award for Best Single of 1989 at the BRIT Awards In 1989 Kylie Minogue was at number one on the UK singles chart with her second solo number one "Hand On Your Heart" The same year Simple Minds were at number one on the UK album chart with Street Fighting Years It was their fourth number one album featuring 'Mandela Day', 'Belfast Child' and 'Biko'. In 2008 The US Postal Service issued a 42-cent stamp in honor of Frank Sinatra showing him in a 1950s vintage photo with a hat on.

Other than the Monkeys, Beatles, and Supremes, I don't know the others. Frank Sinatra always wore a hat.

The Beatles roof top concert was really cool! Even with all the tensions between the members they could put that aside and rock! Frank wore that hat like his idol Bing Crosby to cover a receding hairline
