My new neighbor next door seems to have unlimited money to spend on his house and yard. Today he was getting some masonry work done..including cement steps. He also has brickwork down on the foundation. I really like all of it, including his yard. He took out all the scrub, left the big trees and planted grass. He has all this landscaping equipment. I thought about asking him how much he would charge to make my landscaping like his. Lets see if there is another stimulus check...then I will think about it. However, one drawback everybody could look up here at anytime and see my house and property whereas now in the summer...you can see little if anything up here..Not sure I want to be that "on display." Did you ever admire someone's exterior and ask them about it?

maybe you could find a balance between the two. Something that looks nice, but still gives you privacy. Are you wanting to spend all that money though? Aren't you still trying to move?

I want to, but I don't really have any support. It isn't going to be worth it if it gives me a nervous breakdown in the process. We will see what happens when the tax assessment comes out and what the next couple of months bring. Still a possibilty and one I will do if and when the time seems right.

@snowy22315 I understand that. Better to just wait things out and get things done in the least stressful way as possible, no matter whether's it selling or doing reno's.

His just looks really put together. If I had mine done like that, it might look even better since I have more in the way of large trees.

Many times I have admired the exterior or interior of someone's house and asked about the budget and the person with whom they got the construction done.

I sometimes ask to my neighbors about some plants and flowers they added to their gardens.

Alot of people have gardens here but I can't see most of them. They are hiding them somewhere...

@snowy22315 We all have a garden in the area where I live. I like looking at the gardens of the neighbors while I walk around.

Yes, it happens to me that I see that someone's yard is beautifully arranged, but I never ask them about it, because I know that the problem with me is the lack of money.

I haven't asked anybody, though admiring is a normal thing you cannot avoid

Oh yes, plenty of times . There were a long long time whenever we saw anyone in the neighborhood extended up (building another storey), we would chat and find out the cost. Took us 2 decades to really do it, and now we are so proud of having a pretty house.
