May Financial Goal Updates

Hi! So the last update I made was I GUESS almost a month ago - which seems crazy - and I have done really great with paying down debt, although I just charged a hotel stay for this summer on my credit card. I have continued to make strides including putting a LARGE amount down on my car loan (nearly $3,000!!) It's my last bit of debt before I am debt-free and can concentrate on expanding my savings account and maybe even saving up for down payment on a house. Exciting times! HOWEVER->I put a big chunk of my checking account on this payment - so now I'm a little bit broke for a while. I need to work some more overtime, do some more Shipt orders, and try to live below my means for the rest of May. Here are my current stats as of May 14th, 2021: Student loan debt: $0 *Credit Card debt: $500 (hotel just booked for this summer, should be paid off by next month) *Auto Loan: $4,300 (paid off $2,696 in the last month!) *Savings: $1,473 (+279 from last month) *New Retirement Roth IRA: $150 (+$75 from last month) The only bad thing is I JUST made a large purchase on my credit card for some "vision therapy" services I am going to start doing in a couple weeks (and it will literally last 9 months) - but eventually insurance and HSA/FSA will pay back probably at least 80% of it. But, for now, it looks like debt (because it technically is) and it's driving me crazy. My goals for June 18th, 2021- pay off $600 on car payment and pay off the credit card balance of $500 for the hotel stay in July. How are your goals going, financially or otherwise? Any goals for the upcoming months? Successes or drawbacks? Do share!

That seems like decent goals. Living below your means won't hurt you. Good luck in paying off those debts. A month ago, we paid off a credit card. and we made siginifigant payments on others.

I don't talk about money online. I know you'll get it paid.

My goal? To watch a certain forensic detective series. I downloaded it, but haven't got a chance to watch it. Life is too busy with this or that. Guess I should be able to watch it within this coming three months.

it turns out that you make your payments in a structured manner, this is a good thing. I also have some expenses that I'm covering and will worry me. I hope to solve it soon, I believe I am not in a position of financial freedom now and I hope this will not cause further problems, hopefully everything will be resolved quickly

But having no substantial income for a few days it is difficult to think even to save. What to do now I do not know.A word of caution though credit card shopping is not so good..
