Topsy turvy

I feel like sharing a photo of a boulder that sits up in a campground near Stevens Pass- think mountains. I am back. Too many decisions. I don't sleep well in motels. So I got up this morning, took two Ibuprofens and left. For those who read my last post, I did find my buddy. She woke and was quite coherent. She is on oxygen and morphine but for sure she knew me. It's a weird situation over there so I spoke with buddy for about five minutes. I talked with sister and the other members of the family. It was a whole lot of wear and tear on me, to get that five minutes. I feel it was worth it. One of my sisters drove over from her house and met me. We haven't been together for a couple of years. We had a pleasant walk by the Skagit river. We just talked. Precious time together. The entire area over there is verdant. Green. Lush with weeds and green growing things. The Skagit Valley is known for its tulips and daffodils. As I headed back this morning I saw a sign that cheered my heart: "protected farm land." YES. Hands off developers. That huge fertile field is for farming. Not something to be paved over. A bald eagle sat staring at traffic as I steered my car onto the freeway. Two golden eagles tried to wing into my windshield. I wanted to stay but knew I had to head East, back over Stevens switchbacking Pass.
