Have you been good while I've been away?

It’s five days since I posted which is about the longest I’ve ever been away from myLot. We are having a few internet problems which have kept me away. Hope you are all going well. No doubt I’ve missed a lot of interesting posts but sometimes these things happen.
This time next week, we’ll be waking up in our new home. We continue to have a few dramas here but gradually we’re getting there. The new owner comes for the tractor today and tomorrow we take the caravan to a friend’s place where it will stay when we’re not using it.
I used to do a bit of writing other than on myLot and recently I proof-read a person’s book for him. I was surprised and chuffed (pleased) to find he’d given me an acknowledgement in the front of the book. It arrived a few days ago from Wales.
Hopefully, I’ll soon be back to posting regularly. Things are a bit hit and miss at the moment.

I’ve been away far longer than you so i didn’t even notice your absence.
Moving excites me a lot. It’s a fresh start. But i do get sentimental as well.
See you around.

Hmm, try a new browser. See if a different browser makes it better. Good luck!

@oahuwriter Thanks. They are saying we're using more data than we believe we are. We might end up changing our provider.

NO! I don’t know how to be good!!!
I thought of you today: I saw something called “Australian licorice” in a store, and I thought, “Guess I need to ask Judy what’s so different about Australian licorice.”

@judyev I’ve been quite well behaved, all things considered. I’ve noticed that the current tenants of the house I’m moving to in June have moved out so I might get in sooner than expected. And what a thoughtful letter it was you received - maybe you’ll get appointed editor-in-chief at MyLot to tidy up any messy prose that is submitted.

I prefer editing stuff that people would like edited. I'm not sure that would be the case here! lol Are you almost ready to move? We might need to get some more boxes as I only have a few left now and still quite a bit to pack.

@DocAndersen Oh wow, that's pretty cool. I have short stories in several anthologies but I doubt the boys know about them. It seems bragging to say ' when we're gone, you might want to look in these books before you toss them'.

You are a prolific writer and it is good to hear that you have done proof reading for a book and you have been acknowledged for the same.
.
I myself was inactive here for past many months. I have become active lately. I very well know that you are regular here and I noted your absence.

@JudyEv Yes, you are right that we cannot be here all the time.
I hope that you will be able to adjust with your new place, sooner than later.

Most of the hard parts of moving are over and done with. You can deal with these small dramas with ease.

@JudyEv It proves that you have the making of a proof-reader.Do you often do it now ?

@changjiangzhibin89 No, not at all. I belong to an online writing group and we're encouraged to review the work of others but that's really about the only proof-reading I do. I'd like to do more as I enjoy it.

I've been editing a manuscript for the last week and a half, so haven't been on myLot, either. I'm trying to catch up with posts I missed while I was gone...

@JudyEv I totally understand. I've been editing manuscripts for people for almost 20 years... I rarely talk about it on myLot. There are too many people here who think they can get me to do it for free and I am not willing to spend my time writing their book for them. Especially not for free. I have to make a living.
I wouldn't worry about whether you check out other discussions... You spend your time reading and commenting on other people's discussions while half of the people here don't bother reading yours, let alone saying anything to you worth reading. *sigh* Some days I wake up on the cynical side of my bed.

@DaddyEvil My internet shut down last night before I had a chance to comment. But: I belong to an online writing site where you're encouraged to review other people's work (and have your own reviewed). That's how I came to help this gentleman. But many on the site really only want you to tell them how good they are although I'm very diplomatic about pointing out any errors I might find. You soon work out who really appreciates your input and who doesn't.

To the question of the title of your publication, I must answer that these days I have behaved like an angel.??
I must also tell you that I am happy that you are with us again and congratulations for the recognition on the cover of the book.
