What was I thinking?

As I prepared to do a stupid thing a little after 5 this morning, I was thinking "Bob would cringe, but I will be okay."
I was not okay. I had to get Bob up to help me do first aid on myself.
I had some potato patties that were frozen together and I wanted one. So I grabbed a knife and poked between them, while holding them in my hand.
I got one apart but I also got the tip of the knife in the crease in the palm of my hand. I have blood. Lots of it. Luckily I clot easily and am no longer bleeding, but I will be sore.
He helped me remember an easy way to apply pressure for this spot. We put some gauze on it. I have used an ice pack.
I cannot blame this on lack of sleep. I was in bed by 7 last night, and did not get up until after 4.
Which explains why I did not get back here last night.
I am glad it is Saturday. I am going to meet Jane for coffee. If the rain stays away I will mow some more. I mowed some last night.

Lots of people are telling me they have had this happen. Yet we keep doing it. I think my hand is bruised. At least the scar will be in the crease of my hand.

I hope not. You live alone and would not have had anyone to remind you to clench your fist to apply pressure. I am glad Bob was here.

I've done some stupid things to damage myself, too, but never with a knife. Hope you heal up quickly.

I stopped the bleeding quickly. My hand is bruised and that hurts but I should be okay soon.

@GardenGerty It is because we must apply a strong force to try to divide frozen food and the cut is bad. How do you feel today. I hope it's healing.

Ouch. That had to have hurt. And I had a similar experience with this with hamburger patties stuck together. Luckily it was only a butter knife I used, but I still cut my finger real good and there was blood everywhere. Of course my wife yelled at me and called me an idiot. I think she was just mad because dinner would be a bit later. lol

Butter knife would have worked better, I think. I am glad I stop bleeding easily.

I think it will heal quickly. Bleeding stopped well, but I think I also bruised my hand.
