My printer is busted

Philippines

It's been NINE years since my brother bought this printer and it was the first time we had 3 in 1 ( xerox, printer, and scanner ) which was pretty much new then. It's either I could have this fix or buy a new one.The paper usually gets crampled every time a paper goes in Sadly, my laptop dvd remains malfunctioned to this day so I would have trouble installing a new one.

Most printers are plug and play these days. You don't really need the dvd.

If it's that old already it is not practical to have it repaired since most of the parts would not be available already. Buying a new one will be more practical. I think if you have a budget you can try that printer that has refillable ink it is more economical in the long run since inks do not easily get emptied unlike those that are cartridge-based. Installing printers nowadays is just easily done. If your cd/DVD isn't working you can always search for it thru the website of the printer and they have it all there.

@Letranknight2015 I guess 9 years is already quite old for a printer to survive. Most printers last for only 3-5 years and they would naturally wear down.

I think what is needed more is the tuning of it inside @rsa101 sadly, i don't want to open and experiment on it.

@rsa101 WOW! seriously?! only five years? and I didn't even opened this thing for any diagnosis. My brother may have bought a tough printer all this time.

Best to check what would be more affordable, getting the printer fixed or buying a new one. My guess is it will be more affordable in the long run if you get a new printer.
