Asparagus Water

That is the term my friend used to describe matcha. She said it was not appealing in the least and I tend to agree. At first the taste was not unpleasant, but the more I drank the worst it tasted.
Even so, I gulped it down and am happy I did. I bought two packets of it at Walmart the other day and just tried one of them today. It has MCT oil in it, is keto approved, and is supposed to help with focus and energy too.
I will try anything (within reason) to help me get the last bit of weight off of me so I can start maintaining.
Have you ever had Matcha? Do you enjoy it?

I've never had it. I don't care that much for asparagus; so I don't think I'd like the taste.

I like to eat asparagus, but not drink it.
Even so, it's done it's purpose. I feel more energized and focused, and I don't have any hunger pangs.

@LindaOHio I hope so too. I've come a long way already, and so I'm proud of that. Always heard it wasn't easy for a woman over 30, but it's not been bad so far.

No, I’ve never had Matcha. In fact, honestly, this is the first time I’ve heard of it. With a description like “tasting like asparagus water,” I’m not too interested in trying it, either.

I think it's gained popularity in recent years. I feel like it's in the same family as green teas. Yeah, it's disgusting.

@ScribbledAdNauseum — thanks for the heads-up. I’ll run away from that stuff!!!

@ScribbledAdNauseum — I tend to stick to things like Bigelow and Celestial Seasons, with the occasional stop for Stash licorice tea.

Not by itself, but I am not fond of herbal teas that taste like grass.

I think the worst herbal tea I've ever drank was Dandelion Tea.
This one is better in comparison.

@snowy22315 I want to say I got it from the Yogi brand, but it might have been Traditional Medicinals brand. I don't think I've ever had dandelion greens in a salad, but I've heard people do that.

Asparagus water
. I'm sorry, I kinda laugh at comments about green tea. I grew up on it, so it doesn't bother me, but I know it must be bitter and earthy for those who try to drink it as adults. But yah, matcha is rather strong tasting.
That being said, I don't drink matcha. But I do get foods with matcha in it . . . lots of Japanese/Asian snacks have matcha flavoring now (but probably not enough to make it "healthy"). That I do enjoy

@ScribbledAdNauseum I guess because it's powdery - not leafed - maybe that makes it taste more potent? Right - don't sweeten it - it defeats the purpose. I want to get some as an ingredient to bake with, but geesh it's kinda expensive.

I love Green Tea and Jasmine Green, but the matcha is just not a taste I am accustomed to at all.
I am sure if I drank it regularly I would become accustomed to it. I suppose I could have sweetened it, but I think it would have ruined the health benefits.

I will at least drink the other packet because I do not want to waste it.
I was brought up to eat things even if I did not like it as long as these things were healthy.

@LadyDuck I have heard that before.
I am reminded of many years ago when a teacher explained that our bodies can get used to things we are allergic to if we consume the item in small doses. She told us that her father would give her small portions of some food, I can't remember what it was, but that eventually her body adapted and she was no longer allergic.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I never do, I agree with those who say that if you dislike, it means that your body dislikes and it will not be healthy for you. We are not all the same, not all things are good for everyone.

I think it's gained popularity in the past few years.
Can't drink the tap water here. I mean, I can, but it's not tasty.

@CarolDM Wish we had one, but we don't. We have an ice maker on the fridge but we don't have it hooked up.

I've never tried that but I bet it would be good because it's sweet.

no I haven't tried it. I don't think I would like it. That sounds like Kombucha. I keep hearing how Kombucha is so good for you, but I can't stand it. It has a after taste to it. I am enjoying the raspberry tea though that you suggested to someone about their periods.

Ah! I'm glad you like that raspberry tea. I haven't had any of that in so long.
Yeah kombucha is an acquired taste and not all brands are equal. I've seen they now have hard kombucha and I want to try that one of these days.
