I’ll get it later on after y’all start growing apendages (sic) out of y’all’s foreheads. -----------Deputy Daniel “Duke” Trujillo, on the COVID vaccine If you get appendicitis, don't go to the hospital and have a freedom-taking operation! You have an immune system, use it! Does that sound like stupid medical advice? It does to me, too. It's the kind of thing you hear from mental giants like Donny Trump and Tucker Carlson. Except they say it about COVID. Things like vaccines and masks are threatening your freedom and they're unnecessary. And if you listen to them, you could end up very dead. Just like Daniel “Duke” Trujillo, who died at age 33 to prove how free he is (Was? Is there an AfterLife? Don't answer, that's another question for another day). A lot of people feel sorry for him and the others who have threatened people who want them to wear masks and get vaccinations. I wonder why. Why waste sympathy on people like that? Every time someone tells me they fear masks and vaccines because they're some sort of government conspiracy, I just say, "Fine. Go out, expose yourself all you want and die. I'm not trying to stand between you and freedom." And sometimes they do die. People like Daniel “Duke” Trujillo. If you have a mind to pray for him, do it twice to make up for the prayer he's not getting from me. **** #TYT #TheYoungTurks #Election2020 Anti-Mask Cop Dies From COVID-19

When I'm out and about I always wear a mask and keep a good distance from other people but as far as the vaccine is concerned I'm still not convinced it works, I'm biding my time to see if they come up with anything new over the next few months ..... you know they will.

I haven't gotten the vaccine, either. I'm not worried about it but I'm afraid of needles. I do wear a mask and I avoid super-spreader events. With nearly everyone else getting the vaccine or totally ignoring the risk and dying, I think we might be fine by not getting the shot.

@rebelann @xander6464 The current vaccines won't protect you from getting the newest strains of Covid, either... And the newest variants spread easier and seem to be more deadly than the original strain. Edit to add:
Even as efforts to vaccinate Americans gain steam, more evidence has emerged that suggests a coronavirus variant already known to spread faster is also likely to be more deadly. The B.1.1.7 variant, which is thought to have originated in Britain, is alread

The funny thing is Trump got vaccinated and he did it so his cult could see but yet he and they still talk smack about the vaccines. It takes a special person to get it so you are safe and then tell your followers vaccines are bad. I think he really wants to kill off his own supporters. Either that its a control thing. I can get my people to do anything I want. Looks like he can.

The unvaccinated pockets of the country will most likely get a surge of the Delta variant--the variant is already present in much of the U.S. --the vaccines will protect to a certain extent--I plan on keeping a mask for a while yet--and if you are vaccinated and get the virus, it will likely not kill you--seems like wearing a mask is a tiny price to pay really

@xander6464 I am watching the numbers on the delta variant pretty closely. it is something like 60% more transmissible--so the unvaccinated pockets will get hit pretty hard I am afraid--

That's what I've heard. That if you're vaccinated and get it anyway, it won't be a big deal. It is nice to know they offer at least a little protection from the variant.

The way I see masks, is it's not worth making a big deal about it. If you don't want to wear a mask, don't. If you don't want to get the vaccine, don't. You don't need to make a big deal about it over social media. No one cares what you do with your body. The way my husband and I see it... there are a million and one things that could kill you. Enjoy life while you're alive. Because as he says, we all get that door prize eventually.

Well, all that is true. But there is something to be said for avoiding the 2 or 3 weeks of misery that COVID brings, even if you do survive it. And then, many survivors have lifelong organ damage to deal with.

I've had the vaccine and am still wearing my mask in public. Just because I probably won't die if I get the virus now doesn't mean I am okay with getting sick. One person on myLot was preaching at me because I said I still wear my mask. *sigh* I honestly hope he doesn't get Covid.

It seems that some people have to die or suffer through the disease before they take it seriously.

That's exactly what I think. One less person to vote for Republicans. No loss at all.

That's the way I see it, too. I don't mind that Trump is going to start doing Super-Spreader events again.
