I have a Mitsubishi eclipse 2007 and it was having some brake problems and had to have brakes all the way around. Then I found out it needed a new catalytic converter. It was so costly $1900 is a lot of money to fork over for a car. But I have to do it in order for me to have one. It is depressing that it cost so much to fix. I’ve almost got my car paid off only owe 300 more dollars on it. I almost want to get a new one because my other one is so old. The only thing is I don’t wanna have to pay so much in insurance because right now I paid $250 a month for insurance which is ridiculous. Sometimes I wonder why they charge so much for insurance for full coverage it’s ridiculous it’s almost a car payment. I hope I get some better news and don’t fall into any more debt. I have to wait till Thursday to pick up my car because I won’t have the money till then:( then I have to go get a smog test and that’s gonna be fun. Then I have to get new stickers on my car that’s another expense even. So many things to do and it’s gonna cost so much money to fix.

No kidding. So far our van is running perfect and in real good shape. But, it'll eventually need new parts.

That's too much you may take an opinion from some other mechanic.

That's a big bomb on the pocket to get an old car fixed. Would not it be better to add some more money and buy a new one??

Dame, with that kind of money and a couple of hundred extra bugs, you can buy a second-hand car here in India. That's really expensive. Hope you showed it to at least 2 mechanics to take their input on that.
