I Will Harvest My Strawberries

Soon! Yay! I have 3 pots of hanging strawberries and they are beginning to ripen. I am always happy to see the fruits of my gardening although I am doing it only on my balcony. Soon, my friends and I will harvest strawberries in the strawberry fields nearby. Before we harvest, our empty bowl or basket will be weighed so the salesperson in the field will know how many kilos we have harvested. The strawberries that we have eaten while harvesting are not counted. Anyway, I don't eat the fruits while harvesting as I am allergic to dust. Have you tried harvesting strawberries in a strawberry fields? It is fun. Today is the last day of May. I hope you have reach your Mylot minimum. I wish you the best of June. Thanks for reading.

we love the U-pick place just down the road from us. It was closed last year due to the pandemic, but they are open now!

I love that! We have 3 plants too - my daughter's old teacher gave them to us about 3-4 years ago and they still produce berries! Oh I miss strawberry picking at the farm .. . the kids love that . . . oh my gosh we gobble away as we pick. Can you bring a water bottle with you as you pick to wash off the dust?

@marlina True. Ours allows some munching - as long as it's not a full meal (something about that on their sign). But you're right - should not take advantage.

I wish we had something like that here but it's only I think in Baguio city where they grow commercially and I have not been up there for quite sometime.

@marlina they grow naturally I guess because the weather and climate there is much colder than most parts of the country, strawberries are not native to the Philippines but were brought by American missionaries. American engineers also built Baguio city to make it the summer capital of the country because gold, copper and silver was mined in Benguet province.

Harvesting strawberries sounds like fun but I've never done it. I do remember picking blackberries when I was a kid and apple picking

How I wish to do that but strawberry doesn't grow here. My cousin in Bukidnon a cooler area planted some but am.not sure if they succeeded. I made a little.more than the minimum because I had some points from last months. Thanks for all the help.

I have done it here in La Trinidad. Good experience but like you I did not eat the freshly harvested strawberries and waited until I got at the hotel to wash it first before eating it.

That is not the song I have mentioned in this post. It is a field or a farm where we can harvest strawberries and paid for them in a cheaper price compared to the price in the supermarket. Thank you @TheHorse.
