Hey, just wanted to ask you all something and see if you remember this or not. I was just reading some news and see this alert and was like I don’t remember these things before and got me thinking.
So, I read that we have a severe weather alert in my area right now and I was like what there is not a cloud in the sky and it nice a sunny out. I read it and the server weather alert is for the Air Quality Alert. I guess the air is not going to be good for me for the next few days. I wonder where I can get some different air or maybe just hold my breath for the next few days, and I should be fine.
I don’t remember these alerts like 10 years ago, is this something new to scare people or do I just not remember seeing these alerts? Just reminds me everything is so hyped up now. Severe weather for air quality? Now they are going to start naming snowstorms, what, why? Now every time it is going to snow the news makes it sound like the end of the world is coming. I guess anything to get people to watch/read the news.

@Bensen32 Those warnings are ridiculous... we get warnings for the too hot days! Good, I think that only 1% of houses have air conditioning here, so what do they suggest to do if we get 2 or 3 days of hot temperature? Spend a lot of money for a think we use 5 days a year? They should stop scaring people.

Yes, I can't remember weather alerts either but guess they were around. Wonder when they actually began? Now a days it seems they have all types of alerts for weather conditions!
I found this info... interesting?
1952: The Weather Bureau organizes Severe Local Storms forecasting Unit in Washington, D.C., and begins issuing tornado forecasts.

@Bensen32 Right! They seem to come up with new warnings every few years don't they?

sometimes on the one hand we have to trust the weather forecast, of course so that we are safe.
I mean storms can come on very sunny days
I'm one of those who pay attention to this weather forecast, especially when I'm going out of town and going on long trips
I think I'm thinking of campaigning for the weather so that our society will be safe in the middle of the road

I don't recall seeing those here in Florida, but there's near-constant rip tide alerts. Or ocean alerts of some kind. I guess that's the joys of living nearly on top of a beach.
