Day 298 Promise 768 Revelation 19:19 And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him who sat on the horse, and against his army. 20 And the beast was taken and with him the false prophet who wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them who had received the mark of the beast, and them who worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 And the remnant was slain with the sword of him who sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh. Everyone wants to see justice served on those who disobey the law. For many, it seems justice isn’t served and people protest and violence ensues. From the beginning when Satan deceived Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, God promised both a Savior to redeem man back to Himself and He would bring judgment against Satan for the evil he inflicted on mankind since the fall of man. John witnessed God’s justice when the beast and false prophet were cast alive into the lake of fire and brimstone. He also killed those who rejected Jesus as Savior and Lord. As Christians, you know the final war is coming when Jesus will defeat the armies of the Antichrist and bring justice to all those who wrought evil in the earth. No one will protest God’s judgment. Until the time of God’s judgment, people have the opportunity to accept Jesus as Savior and Lord. When it comes, it will be swift. Which side will you be on? Will you be with the armies of heaven or the armies of the Antichrist? The choice is yours. Let’s pray: Father, Yours is the true judgment. Help me be a witness for You, to bring people to salvation so they don’t face Your final judgment. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. This past year + really, really makes me feel like the time is now. It may or may not be, only God knows. I just feel strongly that so much happening in the world is like a wake up call. Life here on this planet isn't guaranteed to be a long one for we don't know what will happen today or tomorrow, The only truth out there is that God loves us, and we all have a purpose to love one another. To live according to the truth shared by our Lord Jesus Christ.

It is hard for me to see this literally. A sword coming from someone's mouth to me might more mean words of truth. God created with his word. I see him ending things in the same way. Are John's visions literal, or metaphorical? Each vision is given to someone individually focussed for them, and so only John and God can know the true meaning of his visions. Every other reader is left to ponder on the truths for themselves, l would say.

I've always considered the sword to mean the biting, cutting words we speak that can cut to the heart of a person. So too, the words God used, were as sharp as a sword. Have a blessed day.

@just4him Thanks, Valerie. Yes, I think that I would agree with you there too. Hebrews, chapter 4, verse 12, confirms this idea too. "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
