Pride

Out in the wild, you might mistake me for an extrovert. There are occasions, especially when bolstered by friends, that I can be the talkative one. I'll strike up conversations, keep them going, and enjoy it while it lasts.
What you don't see is me withdrawing as soon as the conversation is over. My shoulders hunch, my smile fades, and I seek a quiet corner to recharge.
I am what you might call the introverted extrovert. I can, and will, drive conversations if I sense a need for it. I'll take the tension / burden away from others if I sense it's needed, but these endeavors never last long. You might catch my eye wandering, seeking a friend to come and rescue me from myself.
All of this is to say... Today, while at a Pride event (Pride as in Gay Pride) I spotted a woman I have seen in my neighborhood. I asked her if it was indeed her and she confirmed it. We got to chatting and she told me that the path I like to walk is going to be extended. I haven't walked that far in over a week as the temps have risen.
So YAY for me taking the initiative and talking to her, and YAY for the extension of the greenway (path).
Also, YAY for Gay Pride and Gay Pride events. (I saw a beautiful Ariel (drag queen) today, but did not get a picture with her. My extroversion was limited to the aforementioned interaction)
Are you introverted or Extroverted?

At work I am an extrovert. I engage people in conversation, joke and enjoy them. At home I am quiet and am usually reading or talking on myLot. (By "talking on myLot", I'm reading and typing.) Pretty uses "voice" while talking on her computer. (She types fast, but prefers to actually talk with people online.)

I've talked with people through skype before, but yeah, I don't really like to do any of it.
I'd rather text.
Of course now I am trying to get back into the dating game, and I've learned that you really have to get these guys on the phone because ya just don't know who you're really talking to until then.

@DaddyEvil A friend's mom is on dating sites too and she's had a time of it. She believes that her brother's ex-girlfriend (who is apparently quite the character) is posing as all these men to catfish her. It's a real possibility, but I don't know the full situation so I just keep quiet on that front. Either way, the poor woman has fallen for some real winners lately. She's gullible and kind-hearted and has sent money to men.
As for me, I tend to attract the ones that need working on. The type that I like to say needs a mama more than he needs a woman.
Wow that woman you dated is a real, well word we can't say here, but wow!

@ScribbledAdNauseum I quit dating years ago. The last woman I dated told people that she was going to have Pretty sent to a school far from home just as soon as she could manage it. Pretty heard about it and thought I would do that to her. Of course, I dumped that woman as soon as Pretty told me about it and someone else confirmed she'd told it to them.
There is no way I'd do online dating. You never know who is talking with you. I've met weirdos on myLot and this isn't even a dating site!

I can be, but I need a long period of time for quiet afterwards.

I prefer to work in places where I am not in the public eye. I tend to get easily irritated when I feel I am at my breaking (needing rest) moment.

Yes, I like silence. As long as the silence feels comfortable, I will remain that way. If I feel like I'm expected to talk, I will give it a try.

@ScribbledAdNauseum When we were invited to parties and I know I was supposed to talk with people, I did.

I am introverted since I have this belief that goes "If you do not have anything nice to say, keep quiet."

That's a good belief to have.

@ScribbledAdNauseum It is best not to insult someone I do not know even though they brag on Twitter that they have Gay Pride.
I would like to reply I have "Raider Pride" Class of 1979 from my high school Archbishop Rummel High School but modesty prevents me,

You're just a nice young lady. I'm an introvert. Petitions I get & sign is for equality for them. People should have happiness, equality, a home & treated nicely.

Many years ago I met my best friend. Honestly, if she had not started talking to me first, we probably would not have been friends. She has helped me become more extroverted over the years, but we like to joke that she "adopted" the extrovert.
My other best friend is bisexual. I try to support the community when I can.

A bit of both. I struggle starting conversations, because I can't tell if I'm being talked to. However, once I get going I don't shut up.

I can be a bit squirrely / floaty sometimes when I'm in my own little world. Have had people wave their hand in my face to get my attention sometimes.

I need to get down the creek so I can see the progress. That might explain some of the equipment I saw a few weeks ago.

I can be extroverted with people I know and an introvert among strangers. Or just the opposite. I just never know how I will react or how comfortable I will be.

I think these things really just depend from moment to moment.
