The Weekend Flew By and Monday Is Here Again

Happy Monday Everyone! it's a sunny, hot and steamy day here today. Definitely will be enjoying the a/c. It was even too hot to have my coffee outside this morning.
The weekend flew by as it always seems to do.
Saturday was busy with the guys here doing the deck. They worked hard in the beating sun and certainly earned their money. The deck came out nice and we can't use it for a few days while the stain dries. At least we have the front porch to sit outside if we want.
Yesterday my grandson had their schools first Marching Band concert and field show since Covid. They were only allowed one ticket and people had to bring their own chairs or towels to sit on. One ticket is weird since most kids have two parents but my grandson didn't care if anyone went so we were able to watch it on tv and enjoy being comfortable and in the a/c. The band did an awesome job but I felt sorry for them being out in the heat but I guess it doesn't bother kids as much as us adults.
Today I'm trying to catch up on some house stuff. Laundry is going and I mopped the bathroom floor.
I was lucky to sell a baby blanket that I made so I have to get that packed up and ready to mail tomorrow.
Now I'm ready to enjoy my coffee and chat here for awhile.

I've always been a fan of marching bands so when my granddaughter and now my grandson had the opportunity to join it made it even more special

Don't tell my grandson but it was much nicer watching the concert and field drills sitting at home in the a/c. Previous years we would go and those bleachers weren't comfortable at all

It will be so nice when you can begin to enjoy using that newly stained deck.
Until then I hope that it stays dries and does not rain.
Your grandson has the right attitude, he has learned alot from this difficult time.
Last summer the city's air show was done differently, instead of driving and parking your car and viewing the planes up close, people parked their cars, in sections wider then usual, so that they could get their lawn chairs out and enjoyed the air show from their own space that way. It worked out so well that they said that they are going to repeat it this year.
Not all that we did in the past was perfect, Mr Covid taught us that.

Guess Covid gave us some perspective about being too close even outside. I think many of us will continue keeping our distance even when life goes back to normal.

You must be as pleased as punch with your new deck. I know I would be. I would immediately want to invite people over. Nice you got to watch the concert and sold a blanket.

My deck isn't huge but it's big enough to enjoy sitting outside and barbecuing. It's wonderful having it finally finished and the sun is beating down on it and it dried pretty fast. Now I have to think about getting a new umbrella so we have some shade when we want to sit outside. The sun is at the back of my house most of the day.

The weekend did fly by.
Saturday was the last day of our holiday
And Sunday we came home.
