Day 303 Promise 773 Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. 24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it. 25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. 26 And they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it. 27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defiles, neither whatsoever works abomination, or makes a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life. We all want a place where nothing can hurt us. As a child, when things got out of hand at home, I looked for and found a place where I could get away from anything that could hurt me. Nobody knew my secret place. Did you have a secret place? Do you have one now? John saw the temple of God come down out of heaven, dressed as a beautiful bride. Twelve large gates of a single large pearl surrounded the temple. Not one foundation, as you see on buildings today, but twelve layered with precious gems. An angel measured the length and breadth of the temple. Its sides and walls were equal, large enough to hold the saints of God. In the original temple built by Moses in the Wilderness, lamps needed to burn day and night. They needed replenishing with oil to keep them burning. In the temple of heaven, the glory of God and the Lamb is the light. During the reign of the kings of Israel, the gates were shut when the sun went down. In heaven, the sun never sets because God and the Lamb are the light of the temple, so the gates never close. And the best part of this temple is the glory and honor the saints bring into the temple. With the glory the saints bring, no one who brought evil on earth can enter, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. As Christians, your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. You can enter the new temple and stand in the presence of God and the Lamb. You can enter, knowing nothing will hurt you. You will find peace and safety. You bring honor and glory into the temple. You will never know fear or hatred again. No one will hurt you or harm your loved ones. Only the love of God shines as a light and brings peace and joy. Is your name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life? Will you enter the temple and find peace and safety within its walls? Does the light of God shine in your life? Let’s pray: Father, let Your light shine in my life. Let me know your love and peace as You fill my life with everything good. Let no evil come near me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 10 June 2021 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

I wonder what is this lamb that John talks about? I might posit that the lamb represents all that is good, and written in this book about us, because a lamb is innocent, and pure, in its makeup, and God allows the lamb to be pastured by himself, and to be guided by him, the good shepherd into his fold. This guidance will not be needed anymore, once we are in Heaven with God, as we will see his light, at all times, and not dwell in darkness anymore.

The Lamb is the Son of God, Jesus. He's often referred to in Scripture as the Lamb of God. John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. (KJV) John 1:36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! (KJV) That Lamb is always capitalized.

Yes to the question! I actually had like two favorite spots and they were not really secret. One was a really neat tree that grew in such a way that the branches made a table/chair like seating and all the leaves just made it a globe to cover and go around. So it was a natural room of sorts right by my grandmother's house. So I'd go there all the time and just craft and chit chat with her and friends. The other was a gazebo by a local lake. I loved just sitting out there with my critters and doing crafts/reading. I even made a new one as an adult for myself and my kids! hahahah. I love sneaking out there with my bible and craft bag and just enjoy the day while the kids play on their swingset. ... and amen :)

That's great you had a place you could get away from it all. Those places sound nice. Have a blessed day.
