Did anyone see an eclipse today?

On the news it said there was an eclipse today, but it was not mentioned in local San Jose news. Apparently it was in the north. Did anyone see this? On the TV news it showed people on planes taking pictures from the windows.

I was hoping but it was overcast all day so although I live in a place where the eclipse was said to be visible, the weather didn't cooperate.

Where was it supposed to be visible? It didn’t get too much prominence in local news broadcasts.

@yukimori yes, the clouds can be a factor.

That was about how the lunar eclipse went for us last month. Would have had a great view of it... if the clouds had cooperated!

@popciclecold we need that very badly! Most of California is in an extreme drought. What part of the U.S. are you in?

It did get dark for a few minutes this morning, but I also what looked like storm clouds outside. So, I don't know.

I wish we'd been able to see it. The sunrise was really red here this morning, but that was pretty much the extent of it for us. I guess only the northeastern part of the U.S. had a partial view of it this morning.

That explains why it wasn’t big news in the Bay Area.

We weren't in the viewing path. People could see it on the east coast, but not here.

It would have been nice to see it. I guess the people who were in the planes didn’t live in the viewing path either.

@Aquitaine24 Yeah, the eclipse was very early in the morning on the east coast. The sun still wasn't up here.
