A pea is a pod shaped vegetable with the tiny green pea inside. Peas are good for you. They have lots of vitamins in them and antioxidants. They are also good for your eyes. Last year we tried to grew strawberries for the second time in a row. They all died. We tried to grew corn and the corn never came up. We can grew tomatoes, carrots, potatoes and radishes. So that is a good thing.

Here's a rhyme we used to say as kids: "I eat my peas with honey I.ve done it all my life. It may taste rather funny, But it keeps them on the knife!" Strawberries should be easy enough to grow, provided you get good plants to start with (they are hardly ever grown fron seed). They don't mind cold weather but they do need a lot of sun to ripen the berries. I can understand corn not doing well in Oregon. Perhaps you could try starting the plants indoors in pots and then planting out when the weather warms up. Corn should be planted in a block, not a row, because it's wind pollinated and planting in a block gives more chance that the plants will be pollinated.

@jstory07 It always used to make us laugh. I don't think we ever tried eating peas with honey (off a knife) but probably puréed (maybe with cream), they might make an interesting dessert or ice cream.

Peas are good for they eyes, I always look for things that are good for they eyes. I love peas too one of the tastier vegetables with butter. Yum Yum. You know the legend of Tristan hated peas. I never understood but it was funny he would eat tomatoes, most people and dogs hate tomatoes, but he hated peas. We would make macaroni and cheese and he would love it and we would do him dirty. Leave one tiny pea at the bottom and every time that pea would still be there. The fool was no faker. We always laughed so hard. Put it on top, no put it in the middle, he will accidentally eat it, nope, put it on the bottom, nope.

@jstory07 Yeah, that was a prank because it was funny, but how I know a alpha dog these days. They are consistent in everything they do unlike people who are so wishy washy. True words miss lady.

@crossbones27 We bought some calming treats for Patches when we moved so she owuld be calm in the car. Cats are smart to she spit the treats out and would not eat them at all. Animals know what they want and do not want.

I enjoy eating peas also... What could be the reason why some plants never grow in your area?

Yes. Planting is not easy especially when the soil or the weather is a problem. Good thing you can still plant other things. Have a great day
