Going back

I sprayed on insect repellent and went outside to work. I got about thirty minutes of mowing done.
I came in and I am chilling off. Drinking water.
We had burritos for lunch, and cold canned peaches. We put sour cream and salsa on the burritos.
I have read my mail and I am going to have to look things up to respond to the Weatherization people. I guess things are moving along on that front.
I am going to go outside and mow some more, then come in and have a wonderful shower. I can only do so much each day.
The weather app on my phone says we are going to have thunderstorms. There are clouds in the sky so it is possible.
I planted the wild mint I dug up. I hope it lives. The rain would help it survive I am sure. I have three other types of mint plus lemon balm growing here at home.

@GardenGerty It sounds as though you have had a productive day. Burritos sound good. We haven't had them in a long time. Maybe I will make them for lunch or dinner sometime soon. Thanks for the idea.

I usually just use the pre made frozen ones. If I make from scratch I make too much for hubby.

Somebody gave me what she said was mint but after researching and using a plant identification app it turned out to be catnip , oh well at least they still belong to the same mint family ( I'm not very familiar with the mint plant
) Looks like you had a very busy day.

Catnip is in the same family. For people it is supposed to make a relaxing tea. It is also to repel fleas on cats.

@GardenGerty I read that cats literally love to nip on them and has a hallucinating effect on felines similar to the effect of cannabis but not on humans. When doing a research I also found catnip balls for sale for cats. I'm gonna try your tea suggestion once I get to propagate it.

I cut the front lawn then did a lot of edging on the side yard, which tired me out too much to do the back yard. Tomorrow, I guess.

I never seem to get to the edging or weed eating. I need to. Back yard is very much like a jungle, very overgrown. So two mowing sessions today was all I got done.

@GardenGerty My back yard is more like a meadow... lots of clover and other little blooming weeds, and I don't mean "blooming" in the British expletive sense, either.

I got all the sweat and dirt washed away and we ate a light evening meal. Now I get to relax and enjoy the storms.

Mine have never responded to the other mints I have, although they like cat nip which is the same family.

@CarolDM They were all excited Saturday when I brought this mint from the lake. With the rain pouring now they should recover nicely.

I have read that growing mint around the house keeps ants and other bugs and even mice away.
