Date Night Tonight

My husband and I have been married for approximately eleven years, and every Friday night we go on a date night which consists of going out to dinner somewhere, just the two of us. We do this even though we both work from home and spend a lot of time together.
We feel it's a nice transition from the workweek into the weekend, and we catch up on each other's week and our plans for the weekend.
Tonight we had a very romantic and delicious dinner outside on a veranda at the restaurant.
Do you have a date night with your spouse or significant other?

After 36 years of marriage, "dating" means writing the date on the ziplock before putting it in the freezer.
No. No date nights here lol.

@Vikingswest1 Ha ha, that is funny. I never thought of that as "dating" but you are right, it is.

@wolfgirl569 That's too bad. We have a few places around us, and other than that we have to drive about 25 minutes.

@Dena91 Aw, that's so nice and romantic. Chuck and I like to make each other laugh too. We haven't been laughing as much lately. I don't know why.

My husband and I don't have your tradational "date" night. However, once a week (sometimes twice) we have what we like to call dummy key night. Basically, we'll sit in our van, listen to a CD and just talk about stuff. (Not that we don't talk throughout the week) but this is our routine to do something for just the two of us. I love it.

@kaylachan That sounds really nice. An impromptu date night. Whatever works, right?!

That's so important for a marriage. It's too easy to grow apart over the years. We have a fire pit in the back yard and we built a screened in shack where we sit and watch the fire and talk. No TV, no music, no distractions. We really enjoy it.

@1creekgirl That sounds really nice. I love firepots. We don't have one but I have sat by a campfire many times and it's very relaxing.
