Well, wouldn't ya know it? It is way on the other side of the county. The group I belong to is having a 4th of July picnic, but instead of having it on the 4th which they have done in years past, it is actually on the 10th..and instead of the previous location it is way on the other side of the county.... Anyway, where it was previously was a private residence, but they had a great area for picnics, and lots of parking. However, I am sure it was a lot of work to host this, and they aren't getting any younger. On one hand I am thrilled they are having the picnic, because we have suffered enough with Covid, and we will all be able to meet in person..but gee, it is 20 miles away from here. Why couldn't they have it more in a central location? Did the location of an event ever get moved for you..and you weren't thrilled about the new one? Like I said..really glad they are having it though.. The only reason I wouldn't go is if I attend my nephew's party..but I don't know that a date has been worked out for that yet.

I'm glad they're having it. I hope it won't conflict with your nephew's party.

He won't be in his new apartment until the first so it probably won't be right away. I think I will call sis today and see if I can get an update.

That sounds like fun and if traffic is not too bad should be pretty easy to get to. The 4th would be heavy traffic, right?

Probably not too bad traffic wise...this is a rural area,,,but right around the lake where I live, it could be bad. There is one light here that backs up big time!

I can understand that moving it 20 miles further is a hassle but the idea of being able to go and see friends will offset the inconvenience of the drive.

Yes, watch it rain that day.....I shouldn't say that, it will come to pass.

I hope you're able to get there. It's a shame it's quite so far.

I think I will barring any unforeseen circumstances, of course it could rain or be 100 degrees. You never know about this time of the year!! I would still go even if it was 100 degrees, but I think baseball or softball would be out...

I hope you are able to go as it is something you enjoy. 20 miles to me doesn't seem too bad to go to something I enjoy. 50+ is a bit more of where I think about do I really want to go or not.

Yes, I am just whining... I drive around plenty..but it doesn't mean that I don't want a break sometimes.

I do not believe I would go if I had to drive 20 miles to go there.
