This weekend doing my weekly maintenance is a bit different. I ordered an aquarium rack to transfer it to its current location to make it easier for me to clean it. So this weekly maintenance is a bit tough since I have to empty the water from the tank to make it lighter to carry. After the transfer cleaning was smooth and faster since I can reach out and see the tank than where it used to be. Am happy where it is located now its easier for me to look at and to maintain.

I'm planning to buy aquarium that size but I worry of the hassle of cleaning. Is it a lot of work. I like having a good display inside . I might just buy table top fountain.

@hotsummer I started with smaller like 5 gallons but it appears to me it's harder to maintain since water parameters change more often which in the long run needs more attention than bigger tanks. I decided to get 10 gallons which are more stable now but still the spikes can still happen but less than they used to be.

@rsa101 I have watched a lot before. It seems lot of work but then I didn't see how often they clean.
But I think a smaller size would not be a hard work or a hassle
But of course it will just be smaller fish that be able to house

I haven't been doing any major rescape for months now. Just a few water changes and trimming some plants instead. Algae is hard to get rid of.

Me neither. I just rearrange some stones and the driftwood to make space for the plants to grow more. I also tried to buy these nerite snails since they say they are good algae eaters. Besides, the snails do not breed heavily as the other snails do. So far I was surprised that they really cleaned the algae on my driftwood pretty clean. I think hope they would be minimized soon in my tank.

@Letranknight2015 Plecos are hardy ones they can even become pests when they are released on our rivers.

@jstory07 Yeah and they are easy to maintain. They can adapt easily to their current environment. You just have to look at their health from time to time since they can also get sick if their environment is also taken for granted. That is the reason why I keep regular weekly maintenance to keep the balance of things.
