Day 306
Promise 776, 777
Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
14 Blessed are they who do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loves and makes a lie.
16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him who hears say, Come. And let him who is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
18 For I testify unto every man who hears the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
20 He which testifies these things says, Surely, I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
In every society, you have the haves and the have nots. You have those with wealth and influence, and you have those who barely eke out a living.
Jesus showed John the haves and the have nots in the kingdom of heaven. Those who obeyed God received rewards and those who didn’t, couldn’t enter through the gates of the city, but stood outside the gate. Jesus also told John that those who perverted the Word of God by adding anything to it, would receive all the plagues written in the book and their names would be stricken from the book of life.
As Christians, you know the importance of obedience to God’s Word. You know the consequences when you take God’s Word and do whatever you desire with it. You lose everything and will stand outside the gate with the unbelievers whose final destination is the lake of fire and brimstone for eternity.
Jesus told the people a parable about unfaithful servants.
Matthew 25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They who were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go ye out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them who sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they who were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man comes.
You need to be watchful and ready for the day when Jesus returns with your reward. If you aren’t, and wait until the last moment to begin your work for God’s kingdom, the door will be shut to you and you will stand outside the gate with the words of Jesus ringing in your ears, I never knew you.
A Christian is faithful in everything God asks from him. He doesn’t do Christianity on his terms, but God’s. From Genesis to Revelation, God showed His people what they were to do beginning with obedience.
Micah 6:8 He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
When you are obedient to God, you will show it in everything you do and people will know you are a Christian. You won’t need to tell them.
John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (KJV)
When Jesus comes with rewards in His hand, will you receive rewards or will you find yourself standing outside the gate?
Let’s pray: Father, let Your Word sink deep in my spirit so I will know Your will and follow You all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Very thankful for the Word of God to give us direction and guidance in how God wants us to live our lives. Now it's up to us to obey and follow so that we will one day be in the presence of God and Jesus in his Kingdom.
