And I always heard that Horse Sense was a good thing. Here's a loophole... Put rollers on the pots containing the sunflowers. If you get a complaint you can just say you are putting your plants outside for sunshine and roll them in if necessary. Then roll them back out. Surely no on can object to temporarily moving plants out into the sunshine, right?

I was trying to understand how the bird "feeds" from that. To no avail. What is the basis of that rule? I could never remember it till there is a board (visible from my balcony) saying the rule aloud - preferably in bold letters.

The most appropriate sign may quite possibly be "live free or die." That being said, there are two kinds of places I prefer not to live. Subdivisions and apartment buildings or condos. Rebel or no, I do not like all the rules attached to how I enjoy my own personal space.
