It was a Weird Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there. Kasey went into the hospital to be with Al from 10 to 11 am and Steve went 11-12. Jason came at 2 pm. It was hard for them to see their father like this. Al woke up a little for Kasey, told Steve his head hurt, and slept right through Jason's visit.
Al really didn't stay awake for more than a minute or two all day but he did talk to me a little, very little but it was good to get a response from him. He still isn't eating but hopefully, tomorrow will be better. They stopped one of the medications that was probably making him sleep so he should start to wake up I hope.
They have also relaxed the visitation rules as of Monday unlimited visitors and the hours you can come in are extended to 6:30 pm. That will make it easier for others to visit.
I am holding up as well as can be expected, I cry, I pull myself together. Tonight when I was leaving I said goodnight Al I am going home, and he said I am going home too and I hope that is true very soon.

It is a complicated case because of the Parkinson's. We went to rehab on Thursday but this morning I got a call they sent him to the emergency room. I spent hours there and he was readmitted to the hospital.

Belle, I can't believe I've missed these posts about Al. I am shocked and so sad this has been happening. I will certainly add my prayers to all the others that God will have mercy and heal Al completely. And that He will give you strength each moment. My heart is just breaking for you all.

Such a day.
. I hope the meds help him stay awake and that he is able to return to the food he loves to eat. So difficult, but hopefully Al will be able to return home sooner than you can imagine. . Thinking of you and the prayers are still coming.

Yes and they have all had time with him since except Jason who always seems to visit when he is asleep

That is really sad that you celebrated that Father's day at the hospital. But it is good that many were able to visit him there to at least cheer him up. I hope that he will be better in the coming days and you could spend your days at home safe and healthy. Keep hoping for the best!
