Good morning Tuesday from this side of the planet. It's 8:11 AM here as I write this post. It's a cloudy and cold morning. The rain might come later or maybe sun will show it's face. Weather here in my city can be really confusing and unpredictable. Any way I have washed a load and put them in shaded gazebo upstairs. If sun shows, I will move them out in open. All done for the morning. And I am ready for work. Today the work timings are 9_10 and then a 15 minutes break and then another session from 10:15_11:15. I would cook lunch after my work gets over. It's a simple menu and so it should be ready quickly. I am quite early to log in for work. Husband and daughters have started with office and school. I have a quiet house to mylot Picture is from farm house of one of my husband's friend. They have a good produce of banana and they have shared it with few friends. They gave a big bunch to us. They couldn't come inside our apartment complex due to covid protocol here. Husband went to meet him on our entrance gate and got this. They will take few days to ripen and be ready for eating. I got lots of bananas and I would share some with two more of my friends in neighborhood. It's too much for us to consume. Have a good time in your mylot corner I will just move on to reading your posts and responding.

I don't see the stickers on the bananas... When I get bananas here they always have a sticker that says "Dole", "Chiquita", "Bonita" or just "Banana". Did he forget to put stickers on them? (The stickers are brand names and are on all the bananas we buy in the grocery store. ) I like to eat the bananas while they're still green. Pretty wants them when they start getting brown spots on them. (Unless she puts some of the bananas we buy aside and tells me those are hers, she won't get any.)

@arunima25 We have huge bananas here that are used in cooking, not eating fresh. They're called plantains. I've never purchased them. I like the mouth-pucker flavor of green bananas.

Those are the small varieties called ellaki banana here. Maybe I shall put the stickers before giving it to my neighbors. These ones are costlier than the other varieties in the store. It is almost double the price of the big-sized ones called Banana Robusta here. Ellaki bananas taste sweet and have very thin skin once they ripen. One will make you fully satisfied and the nutrition value is also more. We have a different variety of banana called Batasha banana and that is used raw for making chips, fries, and few curry recipes. It does not taste good when it ripens. While the raw ones get good price, if they ripen you have to throw them at dirt prices. Even I enjoy them when they are fully ripe and sweet but not full of spots.

@DaddyEvil Our batasha variety is similar to those plantains. We make chips, fries and yummy recipes of curries from them. I am not fond of that flavour that green bananas leave in your mouth

This is ellaki banana variety, a costlier one for its taste and nutrition values. The one that is used for chips and curries is different. It is called Batasha banana here.

@arunima25 My neighbor planted a banana tree just to see if he could get something, but it's not warm enough here.

They gave us one full bunch. I will share some with my two good friends here once they are ready to eat. Banana plant falls after one produce and then a new one comes out from below.
