So, anyway off to mystery shop today. I paid off one of my credit cards this morning, and that was a good thing. It was a feeling of accomplishment. I am sure I will eventually have to use it again, but as for now..paying on it is over. Have you ever paid off a bill you felt really good about?

I've paid off credit cards in the past and only have a small one I use and another one I keep for emergencies. I'm sure you're feeling very accomplished at having paid yours off. It will be nice not to have that bill to pay every month. Enjoy your day and hope the mystery shop goes smoothly

Thanks, yeah..I have a few cards floating around but the balance isn't high on any of them at this point. It may not stay that way, but I will keep them as low as possible with hopes of paying them off sooner rather than later.

@rebelann Yeah, it never lasts does it? I imagine all your critters keep you pretty close to the poor house..Properly taking care of animals does not come cheap.

Paying off debt but then I started spending what I had again and realized that rich feeling was extremely fleeting.

All I've been doing is transferring balances from high APR cards to the new low one I have, 4.99% is a lot better than 16.99% but naturally there was a fee they added to the transfer amount but still I think it's worth it. That 4.99% will remain on the transferred amount until it's completely paid off even if it takes me years.

I thought about that..but really there isn't much of a balance on my highest rate card..not really necessary..I will reevaluate at another time.

Mostly what I transferred was the car and home insurance .... I pay either yearly or biannually on one of my higher APR cards so this sounded like a better deal.

@DianneN Friend used to do that...3 of us went to Alaska and back just on air miles. The fees for those cards are pretty high though usually. I thought you were going to take a trip somewhere...

@snowy22315 It was. We paid cash for our condo. Another good feeling. Cars, too. We use our cards for air miles. Now we have so many miles and nowhere to go.

That's great you have it paid off. Yes, I had credit card debt a long time ago. It was good to get rid of it and the card. I've been debt-free for five years now.

That's awesome. They are good to use in case of emergency, but to rely on them is not a good thing.

It does feel like an accomplishment after paying the bills. We would also feel temporary relief, until the new bills arrive that is.

Yes I have numerous times. I will feel more better when I get them all paid about 1 year and a half. Good for you.

That's wonderful that you paid off a debt like that. I remember having a big bill with a credit card when I was younger, and how long and how hard I had to work to pay it off. It was such a nice feeling when it was paid for.

There is one that has a high interest rate..but I don't have enough on it to do a balance transfer really. That is going to be the next target.

I am sure that paying off a debit is a good feeling. The only thing we bought with a mortgage was our car, because it is more convenient and everything is covered by the monthly payment during 5 years (insurance, repair, pieces and so on). We finished paying for the previous one and we exchanged with a new one two months ago.

Sometimes there are reasons to have payments. Most of my debt on this card was from a crown just the portion my insurance wouldn't pay for..it wasn't alot.

@snowy22315 I understand very well. Here in Europe having debts was not at all common until around 15 years ago. People had to save before they could spend money, it was not easy for many families.

When I got divorced my ex assumed all debt so I walked away scot-free. I've been paying off my credit card in full each month ever since.
