First Watermelon This Year

A knock on the door and saw my neighbor with a watermelon to share. He bought two and could not eat all of them. And said they were bigger than he realized.
So, I have it cut up in pieces in the frig to snack on here and there. What a nice neighbor I have. I told him to stay inside this evening. I saw him on his mower and the weather is getting hot again. He said he was going to relax in his pool.
This watermelon is so sweet. Delicious. Something so good about the first one you have in the summer. We used to have them in our garden growing up.

@CarolDM Thats even more of a reason to put salt on it. Cuts the sweetness

@thislittlepennyearns But I love the sweetness. I use salt if they have no taste.

I had yellow watermelon last night. I prefer the red one they're more watery. The yellow ones though sweeter are not that juicy.

@CarolDM red ones are more refreshing especially if chilled.

That was sweet of your neighbor to offer you some watermelon. Mike use to grow the sugar baby variety, because I don't like any type of melon. Those were the best size for him to enjoy.
I need to get our yard mowed tomorrow. They are calling for rain over the weekend. It was nice today, a bit cooler and less humid then it has been.
