Caught in a Thunderstorm

Got caught in a thunderstorm while out at the vet with Brendel. But I did not melt. No worries.
Brendel got a fairly good report. She is at what looks like Stage Two (of Four) Chronic Kidney Disease. The vet was pleased that we have caught it this early. He is hopeful.
She will not eat the special food he gave her. But he told me to let her eat whatever she will, preferably wet food. And to make sure she drinks fresh clean water every day.
Still trying to slow down the progression, it cannot be reversed or cured.
He will check her labs every three months or sooner if needed. She is sleeping.

Stage two is good. All you can do is slow down the train. And, it seems to be working. As long as she wants to eat something, that's good.

@CarolDM Precious was the same way about his cat food. The vet didn't seem to believe me. Then i reminded him 'you also injected him with extra b12 and stimulated his appitate. He's going to eat cardboard if you make him hungry enough. Well, not really.... but still.

@kaylachan I understand. And I told him from the beginning she would not eat it, not even with other food mixed in. I was so stressed I stopped.

Science Diet is crap food so I wouldn't worry about her not wanting to eat it. Even the prescription stuff. Cats usually like the really cheap stinky canned food. Trader Joe's used to sell an awesome tuna formula but I haven't seen it in a year or two.

I hate being out in the rain. That is good that it was caught early on. I am so sorry it cannot be cured. It must have been very hard for her and so glad she can sleep. That is good that she can eat whatever she will. It must be very hard for you too to see this happening to her.

Glad to hear the news. Keep feeding her stinky cat food and make sure she drinks water! Hopefully she still has a long life ahead of her. Sending prayers and thoughts for both of you!

Good, hopefully she will be around for awhile. Nico much prefers dry food to wet, but he will eat certain things. One thing he loves is those Friskies Little Soups.

I am glad Brendel got a pretty good report. I hope that she will continue to enjoy tuna and salmon for you.
You must have gotten some rain from the depression Danny that formed fairly quickly yesterday off the coast of South Carolina. We got some showers over night, nothing too bad.
Have a blessed evening.

. What a relief that Brendel's condition is still considered to be "early" . . . next will be finding the food she will eat. I know you will give her the most loving care possible

I want some rain too.
