How to be a PAWRENT

The only thing that runs into my mind is being a responsible pawrent to their fur babies. If he or she cannot have this quality, then never think of being an owner. In my neighborhood, it is normal to see stray cats. They keep on multiplying.[em]w00t[/em
Is your neighborhood like this?

I don`t see stray cats around here. Most of the cats I see have pawrents who loves them dearly.

@m_audrey6788 That is great to hear. It would be nice if every neighborhood were like that.

No, there aren't any stray cats or dogs here. If any show up, we call the pound (the municipal authority who catches and takes care of stray pets) and they catch the stray animal. If someone owns the pet, they can pay a fine and get it back. If nobody owns it then it's usually put to sleep.

@Shavkat Yes, "putting them to sleep" is a nice way of saying euthanize them.

that is a difficult reality sometimes, there are people that shouldn't have pets!

@DocAndersen The feeling is mutual with this concern. Originally, I am a dog lover. I tried to love a whisker a few years back and lost it.
But still, I am open to having one in the future.

@Shavkat Dogs, or Cats (personally i am more of a dog person) are gifts but we are responsible for them and their well being.
It makes me so sad when I see a dog abused.
Or a cat roaming around outside free with no control.

Yes, my former neighborhood was very much like that.
This is why we have a boat load of cats.
My husband and I love them so much and wouldn't trade any one of them for the world but talk about irresponsibility.
The trap, neuter, return program or TNR helps a bit. This is where an organization like the Humane Society, captures the stray cats, takes them to get examined, spayed or neutered and then they return them to the location.
As long as there is a responsible person or persons who will feed and care for this 'colony', the cats don't multiply and no other cats come into the area because the territory is already taken.

@betlynfrnds I am hoping that the local government unit will do the same thing here. Perhaps they can be stricter to these irresponsible people.

There are lots of stray cats and dogs here.. nobody brother's. But if they create any problems then people complain the authorities , rest is done by them. . those who own the pets look after them very well...

it is common, but people take care of them somehow - they feed them and they adopt some.
