The Third Time Is The Charm

And yes, this one is in reference to Social Security! Today when I called in I got a normal and sane person who took the information and looked in my mom's account and said well someone put a new account number in the system. (This is odd but hubby said he thought I did that earlier. I thought I had forgotten with the close of nursing home due to new covid positive case.) Regardless, she asked me the new account number. She said this number on file is one number off. Whoever put it in the system made a typo. She immediately fixed the error and we are now all set.
At least I know that there is one nice person at Social Security that is willing to do a little work and help someone out. Funds should be in the account in 3 to 5 days.
Hopefully, we are done with dealing with Social Security for a long time. But why couldn't the other representatives listen to me and/or try to get to the bottom of the problem. I think they tell people to fill out forms just to get you off the phone.
Photo is from Pixabay. I thought checkered flags were appropriate since I finally got SS fixed! A WIN finally! You know what they say, "The third time is the charm!!" It really was today!

Good for you. I can imagine the time you spent trying to find a competent representative at SS.
Most of the time, the reps are just trying to clear their desk of pending claims by dismissing or passing claims off to the next rep.
I had a 54 month fight with SSI for my wife before they approved her claim.
I must have had 30 different representatives that passed the buck without taking action.
I finally ran across a kind woman that fixed inaccuracies and added medical records that somehow weren't included in her file. Her work cleared the way for immediate approval. After 54 months of waiting.
I am happy that you were able to find someone willing to fix the problem and resolve the issue on the spot.

That is horrible and uncalled for. Like I said those people need better training!! And again, they have a slew of people who don't want to work, don't want to help people and just want their paycheck! That needs to change! And it never will.

I'm afraid you're right.
I guess there's hope that you can still find good people in those positions.

Not looking for my husband's retirement. I'll have to help fill out forms and deal with social security once again. I'm happy I don't have to deal with them for a few more years, yet.

I'm so glad the problem is fixed. Many reps don't make the effort to get to the bottom of the problem. It's sad.
