I Finally Gave In to Pfizer

I was digging my heels in saying I would not get the covid vaccination and even justified it by saying I had covid and still have the antibodies. I was worried about something that was out so fast. I never thought they were implanting me with a tiny little tracker. Yesterday, I had my first Pfizer. My arm is slightly sore but I'm doing just fine so far. Why did I change my mind? I prayed, researched and felt it was needed for me. Some reasons: I'm 62, fair health, don't want covid again like I had it last year, want to go back to normal living and be able to take that cruise to Alaska (all running right now want vaccinations.) For some reason, the Delta strain is scaring me too. July 30th, I receive my second round. Odd I'm doing this but still refusing a flu shot.

@noni1959 you are correct. both ways it is scary but I choose the one I think is the lesser evil

@rakski I was very sick last year with covid and don't want it again. I know I can get it again even with the shot but thinking if I can keep it light, that will be good.

I know many who haven't and refusing. It is scary to do it but scary not to.

I am about at that point also. I think we will all need it sooner or later. It's just a matter of time. One of my daughters just had first dose of Pfizer and her fever spiked at 104.5 that first night. I'm not looking forward to it all.

@noni1959 She was expecting fever but not that high. It was almost at 105 before it finally started going down after meds and bath.

It sounds like her immune system kicked in. It's good but can be scary if not warned it might happen. I felt a bit warm early this morning but don't think it was a fever from the shot. I was told it's good to get a response to know the immune system is building.

Here those who had Covid only receive one Pfizer shot, never two. If we want to travel there is no alternative here in Europe, we must get the vaccine.

@noni1959 The natural antibodies are registered on the card here and this is the reason they prefer to give only one shot to those who recovered.

@LadyDuck It doesn't make sense how things are done here. I guess that is why so many are fighting it.

I asked about that since I have the antibodies and was told the second would give me greater immunity with my natural antibodies. I don't understand why our natural antibodies couldn't be registered on the card as well.

@Tampa_girl7 It's scary. I hope it doesn't cause thousands of deaths like before.

Most flus are not as hard on the body as covid has been for people. We had the Pfizer one also. Felt really tired a few hours after the second shot. Then a couple of weeks later I felt like I had a really bad cold. That was it.

I hope I don't feel like a cold or anything when I get my second one Tuesday. Right now I feel if I don't get the second, I can get very ill.

@JudyEv So far this second one just had me slightly fatigued more than normal and a sore arm. The soreness was gone the next day. Today, I was pretty active.

You’re smart for getting both shots. I’m sure you don’t want covid again. I’m extremely worried about the Delta variant.

I find it odd the shot area is sore when the shot itself didn't hurt at all.
