I posted a vintage New Home sewing machine and cabinet on the Marketplace for free thinking no one would be interested. It needs a lot of work and my hands just hurt too much to finish the project.
Within minutes, I've received several messages. Looks like someone sees a vision like I did.
I just finished my wicker chair makeover, have a vintage side lifting table to finish and an old wooden ladder to turn into a shelf. I'm having to accept projects are too much for my hands now (psoriatic arthritis.)
Do you like taking old furniture and making it "new?"

Furniture and old toys or wagons too.
I've restored or refinished many things. It's so rewarding to see junk transform into beauty.
I'm kind of half working on an old peddle car from the early 1960's right now.
I tracked down the stickers and pin stripes and rebuilt the peddle assembly, all it needs is sanding and painting.
I'll bet it was fun to get so many people that wanted your "dream" for their treasure.

Good for you!
I got the bug early. I had an old sleigh bed when I got married. By chance, she had a matching sleigh dresser with mirror. After a year or two we found matching night stands and a tall plant stand.
We had the entire set now.
I spent the next two years refinishing each piece.
It took.
I love to restore things.

@Vikingswest1 I would love to restore an old pedal car. I had one as a child. I've refurbished three end tables and did glaze with them. Two are from the 60's and I use them. The other is from the 40's and my oldest daughter has it. I have a very old wooden divider I want to re do later. That one will be easy.

You tried to shed? I gave one away recently. You can find so much free out there to redo. Even a simple light sanding and new stain will be nice. My son moved to Washington and got rid of most his things to not have to haul it all so I took his table. It folds down into a skinny thing and then opens to seat four. It's so heavy since it's solid wood. I'm going to lightly sand, stain a mahogany and add poly seal. Simple and easy. I like I can fit it in my mini house and keep closed until needed.

@noni1959 I need you closer to show me all these easy ideas. I even tried to give the desk away. So far no good. I am not messing with or re-doing my old dressers- my swivel mirrored one needs help but not giving it some trendy color like turquoise.

@sallypup The easiest project is to lightly sand something, put your color of choice stain, let it sit 30 minutes. Wipe and add another coat. Wipe again. After, add polyurethane and let it dry. If you want to glaze, paint the item, let dry a little, wipe areas of paint or lightly sand in different parts, add stain, then wipe off. After, poly. I attached an end table I did. I did two this way. Sorry for the grainy photo. It's a nice turquoise with dark glazing.

I have no experience of changing old furniture to new but glad you were able to find someone who needs your sewing machine and cabinet

What you said is very true. It might be just a junk for you, you are tired see it lying idle over and again since ages. But the same can be an interesting thing, precious for someone else. Thats what life is all about.
So such marketplaces works as a mediator for us. It helps us to keep life rolling especially our junks

I'm glad your sewing machine will find a new home.
I'm glad you're still able to work on projects. I'm sorry your hands have psoriatic arthritis.
