Life-defining actuations make us who we are.

The Virgin Galactic Space Travel launched hours ago was a sight to behold. Man has emerged from mere creature on Earth to a traveler in space.
It was a childhood dream of a billionaire. He made it happen. A dream realized.
As of real time the dream was happening, I checked out my old house in another city. I have not visited the village all the long pandemic one and a half years.
Made a turn to a good neighbor's place perpendicular to my street. And I found him with a new dog sitting at his front porch, raggedly thin and shabby.
Shocked at his skeletal appearance, I asked why he was so frail! He simply answered that he had already a previous condition before the pandemia, and now he just subsists on vegetables.
But my guess is that his obsession of the conspiracy theories has alienated him from his own family. His wife and two daughters have their own condo in the metro.
My daughter, the doctor, was with me and she took pity on our neighbor. Told me to bring food later so he could have decent nourishment.
Just a thought. Our beliefs and actuations make us who we are.

@eileenleyva Good that you were able to provide them that. I just remembered my father who is living alone like that in his place.
Although we do send him financial assistance we could not easily go to his place right now because of the pandemic. So far he can manage to live on his own and buying the things he needed. I hope we can finally visit him this Christmas so we can make him happy this Christmas.

@rsa101 The wife and daughters are well-off. Money is not the issue. They probably wouldn't come because of his beliefs. He tells me all about the conspiracy theories but I take it with a grain of salt.
By they way, my breakfast today is fried potatoes and pancake. Our pantry is empty. Hu hu. Ha ha.
Go visit your father. He needs you.

I didn't ask but perhaps the fact that he was in the front porch meant he was waiting for his wife or daughter(s) to bring him food.
Made a turn about the city after delivering my daughter to the hospital this morning. Brought my old neighbor ayuda courtesy from my daughter's pantry: spaghetti noodles, Alpine milk and tuna for carbonara, Italian sauce and sausage for typical spaghetti; Great Taste Coffee, Cheez Whiz, Pandesal, and two Jabi rice breakfast meals.

Psychological, you mean?
I just gave food because no one could think properly on an empty stomach. But I think that he really believes all the suspicious conspiracy theories. His family, for all I know, had given up on his badgering them to believe.

Yes, this is true. Hope your neighbor (or old neighbor) will be okay.

Brought him two packs of breakfast meals, bread and cheese and grocery items for carbonara or spaghetti. At least he has nourishment for today and the coming days.

Yes, I agree with that. Sometimes. we are also judged by what we have failed to do.
