Forgotten Gift Cards Are Always Nice

Found an Amazon gift card in my purse I had forgotten all about. Not crazy about Amazon, so I have not used it for at least a year now. Have been wanting one of those expandable garden hoses. I couldn't find one with the brass shut off valve, only the plastic. I knew that would not last, so I forgot about it. When I saw the gift card, I found the hose I wanted, ordered it over the weekend, and it arrived today. My surprise for the day. After the rain I will check it out. Cannot wait to use it. Above is the hose I received today. A 50 foot expandable hose.

That has happened here too . . . cleaning out the purse, or some random bin on the computer table . . . some hidden gift cards pop up

- like finding treasure!! Glad it was put to good use . . . hope your new hose works out!

@CarolDM Here in CA, I think we are exempt from gift card expiration dates (by law or however that works). Your gift card was well spent

Always good to see no expiration date as well. So far so good, it weighs nothing, and will be easy to fold back up when I am done.

We're not a huge fan of Amazon either but we do order every once in awhile from them. Glad you found what you were looking for.

There is an interesting statistic about gift cards. $3 billion each and every year never gets used. To me, that is a staggering reality, but one reason why gift cards have become SO popular among businesses who can sell them. Rebates are another interesting one with over $500 million a year in unclaimed mail in rebates. When you get a gift card you should always keep it handy and use every penny of them. At some point (although some never expire) the companies just pocket the money. Glad you found it and got something you wanted.

With the epidemic more controlled and movie theatres opening again I have gift cards from my Leap Year birthday in February 2020 for AMC, Regal and the Gateway theatres plus a few restaurants!!!
