Okay, okay. Drumroll please. Let's see if this a big winner, chicken dinner, even though it is a fish dish. There is someone out there who can either put out the red flag or give this a green light. Trust me, she knows who she is. She loves my casseroles. Just take my word for it despite her frequent puke faces. I am making tilapia. I had some pretzels, so I ground those up into a floury kind of thing with the Magic Bullet. Then to that I added about 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, curry powder, pepper, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder. I will dredge the tilapia into a milk mixture, then into the seasoned pretzel mixture to coat them well, and then put these bad boys onto a baking sheet. I will bake them for about 20-30 minutes and voila! A sort of Parmesan, pretzel crusted tilapia whateveryoumightcallit. Not sure what the sides will be yet, but I am hoping it will not be me beside the toilet heaving violently into it. What do you think of this (I presume) wonderful dinnerful delight? I really hope my dish looks as good as this stolen pic from the Internet.

First of all tilapia is farm-raised in Asia and is NASTY. Second of all. . . I don't even have a second of all. Enjoy your meal.

Cows are farm raised. Pigs are farm raised. Chickens are farm raised. Deer you buy in the store is farm raised. Buffalo is farm raised. Turkeys are farm raised. Geese are farm raised. Ducks are farm raised. The rabbits you buy in the meat department are farm raised. I fail to see your point. And what do you have against Asians? I thought the conservatives were the racists.

@porwest Ew. I refuse to buy any farm-raised seafood. Do some of your beloved research on Asian farm-raised fish. I know you think I'm crazy about a lot of stuff but I'm on to something here. No more farm-raised seafood for me which sucks because peeling and deveining wild caught shrimp sucks.

@porwest I refuse to eat farm-raised seafood. I'll peel and de-vein shrimp myself. They feed such garbage to those fish and it is disgusting. The last 2 times I bought tilapia it tasted like MUD. No thank you. Wild caught all the way these days baby. Even better when it is freshly caught off of the beach and brought to me an hour or 2 later!

Tilapia is a nice fish. I have never coated it with pretzels but it might work. My coatings are with breadcrumbs.

I often will grind up "going stale" corn chips, pretzels, potato chips into a flour like texture and use it for "breading." Uses up the schnibbles and adds a different kind of a flavor to whatever I am making. But I do use breadcrumbs often as well as panko.

I'm sure it is going to taste great. I eat tilapia as it has very few fish bones. Will have to try this recipe of yours one of these days.

@porwest I don't think we have tilapia filets here. We have other filets but not tilapia. I have to check the next time I go to the supermarket.

@allen0187 Hmm. That would seem odd to me, unless they call it something else there.

Could be a winner as you mentioned. I don't eat fish, but that crust mix sounds amazing.

It turned out delicious. I love fish and would eat it more often if it wasn't so darned expensive.

Did you dish looks as good as that stolen pic from the Internet? I would sometimes make baked tilapia. Not often though. We would usually eat chicken more. The others are not really fond of fish dish.

Tilapia is a fish that I will generally avoid. I do not like the taste of the fish somehow.

There are a few I don't care for. Whiting readily comes to mind. But the ones I dislike are few and far between.

I'm not a big fan of Tilapia. They grow so fast that they actually have very little nutritional value compared to other types of fish you can buy. But, on the plus side, it's a great food source for third world countries or rapidly growing countries who are having trouble feeding their population.

You are very creative with your dishes. And I am sure nothing in your house goes to waste. Don't remember the last time I had tilapia.
