Drought & Fires

We are (my state at least) currently in a drought and there are many fires happening. I think they said 14 different fires were going on....in different areas. That is pretty scary. We have had a super hot summer....and no rain at all. Some rain would be nice right about now. How is your weather, are you in a drought? Are there fires where you are?

It's been dry all year but that's normal. There are no fires close to me for the first time in three years. The smoke was awful. It blocked out the sun and made for eerie looking days. Last year wasn't as bad as the two years before. I hope you don't have anything that gets close. Be safe and keep safe.

@MommyOfEli2013 Having a plan in place and essentials easily accessable in case you need to flee. Water on hand is always a plus.

That's good there are no fires close to you currently. Hopefully it stays that way. Yes, the smoke is bad....we dealt with that the past 2 years...and now again. Not sure what be safe really means lol

@MommyOfEli2013 She’s far from them, but reports the news all the time. Wish I could ship you the rain. It’s getting old.

@DianneN Oh okay well that is good that she is. That'd be nice! Strange how places that don't need the rain get it all, and the places that need it get none...

Yes, it definitely is...and it's only mid July... That's great you have a friend here....but sorry that you're always hearing of the fires. They must live closer to them. We could definitely use the rain

Thankfully, no. But we've had our fair share of droubts and wildfires. The smoke was so bad one summer, it changed the color of the street lights.

It can be hit-or-miss for Florida. We're glad it's not a dry summer. Not only are heat and fires a bad thing, but Hurricanes seem to want to head our way if we don't have rain and fronts to keep them at bay. We dougged a bullett with Tropical Storm elsa, only to have a nasty thunderstorm knock out our power for... 32-ish hours? @MommyOfEli2013

I am always heartbroken when I see the deadly fires in our western states throughout the year. I pray for rain for your area and that you and your family stay safe. We're just hot and humid. We had a little bit of rain from Elsa last week, the middle and eastern part of our state (NC) got much more than we did.

Sorry about the humidity, that is no fun either....that's good to get some rain....much better than a drought I am sure; not that I know.

No, we've had plenty of rain. There is flooding in some parts of the state as a matter of fact. I keep praying for rain for the west; but it's just not happening.

here the weather is erratic, sometimes hot with drizzling rain, really the weather can make us sick, I mostly stay at home and wear a mask, I hope I can take a walk outside for a while
