Never again

This is my second time writing this, trying to make it as short as possible. Still waiting on the pet-sitting situation. Messaged friend's niece at 9 AM and haven't heard anything at all, here it is 4 pm. Sometime between now and midnight they'll have to come pick me up or get back to me either way, but it's frustrating not knowing. The later it gets the more I hope they've changed their mind about me pet-sitting and just haven't told me. I don't think I will ever agree to pet-sit for them again though. I need people to be more on the ball with things.. How's your Friday? Do you hate when your time is wasted?

@S4mmyboy Agree. It's so easy to communicate with people now and only takes a moment.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I never like to keep people wating and nor do I love to wait. I agree due to some reasons we may not be able to as planned, but then it's just a phone call away....after all why are these phones invented for?

It's very inconsiderate, wasting other people's time by making them wait.

I'm not sure why my friend gave me the phone number of her niece instead of the phone number of her sister-in-law. I think the dog is technically her niece's? Either way, I will not help them again.

@ScribbledAdNauseum This created too much anxiety for you, then not letting you know what's going on!

@kobesbuddy I just received a response. Yes it did create too much anxiety. Many years ago I was diagnosed with Adjustment Disorder. It rears it's ugly head occasionally.

In my early 20's I was diagnosed with Adjustment Disorder. Basically, I didn't take sudden change well. It's something that rears it's ugly head from time to time. Wednesday was horrible for me because I felt the same emotions I did before I went to work (when I worked outside the house). I finally received a response.

That would drive me absolutely nuts. I can't stand waiting around wondering how my day is going to go.

I was experiencing the same anxieties I had before I went into work. It was horrible! I do think I'll petsit for them if they ever ask again though, only because after getting there I was fine.

@shaggin Yes. I got to sleep in my own bed an extra night than expected which was nice.

I wonder why they are not getting back to you - you'd think they'd give you some kind of heads up at least. It's like thanks a lot for keeping you hanging - not cool .

@ScribbledAdNauseum Response? So is that a go, or a no-go ?

Right! She told me she'd text me about what time she gets off work but never did. But now I've got a response.

I got a response shortly after I posted this discussion, gave her my address and haven't heard anything. Does that mean she's on her way? I don't know, but I don't like not knowing either. Nothing to do about it, can't very well chastise.

I hate when people are not respecting other people's time. We have our live going on too. Not just waiting for them.

Yes I do hate that. I will probably text anyone whom I need to meet or complete a task with if they are late to make sure if they are truly late or there is a change in plan.

I think that it is rude that they haven't let you know anything. Your time is just as important as theirs. I wouldn't offer to pet sit for them again. Let them find someone else.

I think it's very rude and inconsiderate. My Friday was OK -- boring and uneventful.

That is inconsiderate of them to keep you hanging like that. If it was me, I would send them a couple of texts with ?? and if they didn't respond with an hour or two..I would say I guess you have changed your mind about pet sitting. I have to know within the next half hour so I can plan my weekend

That’s annoying. My Friday is okay. Thinking about if we want to do a movie night tonight with the kids to watch the new Space Jam movie. So not thrilled not sure about the kids on that one. Tomorrow we might do bowling.
