In my part of the world in is winter now. Normally I go to Aruba for 2 weeks in winter and besides the air fare it is not so expensive. I have a timeshare with a full kitchen and a great swimming pool and a jacuzzi. And one of the most beautiful beaches in the world is at walking distance and so is a big supermarket.
Now I can only dream about that. The pandemia has changed all this and I´m locked down in my country. I have to learn how to go to Aruba in this condition.
I miss holidays. Will you go anywhere soon?

It's rainy season here.. but no rain as such..its still hot ..for us winter starts in November..
No plans of going anywhere ...the third wave on the rise... almighty knows what's going to happen..

Well, here too we just had a few rains and else it is so hot and humid. It looks as if the rain bearing winds have gone away for another break!

We are the same although it is winter here. Health authorities are talking about a 3rd dose of the vaccine. If they say "get a shot everyday" I will. I don´t dare go to hospitals so I am taking greater care of myself here.

I read that Delta variant cases are on rise in Hyderabad. Elsewhere, people are flocking to Hill stations to get the so called "Third Wave" to come early on!! So Intelligent folks !!

The farthest I have gotten in over a year has been to Dixie´s house, at the same part of the city I live. There I can go with Dixie to my dentist which is 4 or 5 blocks away from her house. I miss my vacations at the Caribbean

@marguicha The only places where we go are the grocery store, the dentist, the doctor and the physiotherapist because my husband needs to go once a week.

I'm done with travel. I'll do road trips instead. No more air. No more boat.
If I can't get there by car, I'm not going.
If you wrap your water pipes with insulation, the water gets warmer more quickly. You won't have to run it as long.

I have mine as insulted as they can be. But the water comes from the icy Andes mountains nearby.

Ha ha - well if you come to our place and experience the 38 to 40 C temperatures with high humidity (making us feel like 42 C!) and just a few rains here and there, you would think of running back to a colder place !!
Well, it is the extremes of the weather that make us long for other places.

@marguicha It is a small town in the State of Maharashtra in India. I am weird. I have issues in accepting illogical stuff. So I accept saints who sound logical and let them decide whichever god is true or not. Shirdi Sai Baba makes a lot of sense to me. So I kinda like him.

I have only been to Caracas and it wasn´t hot. The Venezuelans that are here are not happy now with the cold spell we are having.
