It sucks when they leave you hanging

Been applying to a few companies and only 1 out of 4 or 5(?) companies explicitly said that I was not the one they were looking for. I do appreciate it when companies do that, so people can have closure, instead of waiting for weeks just to hear nothing. A simple email or text would suffice.

Maybe they have a deadline so they can gather all the applications before responding? That's usually how it works with a lot of companies I know.

90% of the companies do not do that. Only a couple of them does so politely.

That's unfortunate. I guess if they stop contacting in 2 weeks, it's better to forget about it.

i've heard that if they say "we'll contact you" - they probably won't. but that's the situation here.

Hello there! I would like you to know that you are not the only one experiencing that I have experienced that too and its hard sometimes when two companies wants to hear from me as soon as possible. That means I have to junk the other application.
