Stouffer's Chicken a la King Last Night

I never buy frozen TV dinners or frozen prepared dinners. But this Stouffer's chicken a la King was on sale, so Jay purchased it. While he's not here, I like to fix a quick dinner for myself. Last night it was the frozen prepared chicken a la King entre, a Stouffer's product. It had peas, onions, mushrooms, rice, and sweet red peppers throughout a thick, creamy sauce. It was pretty good, but I don't ever plan to buy it again. I'd much rather fix my own meals, from scratch. Photo: Borrowed from Pixabay, it's NOT chicken a la King

I'm glad you included a note about the picture because that looks like chicken lo mein! I sometimes have a few clearanced frozen meals in the freezer. I recently made some Birds Eye sweet & sour chicken with cauliflower rice that I had in the freezer. Like your reaction to your meal, it was good but not something I'm going to go out of my way to get again.

I was wondering how can chicken ala king look like that..... But later read what you have mentioned. No matter how delicious the frozen dinners can be, if you get satisfaction from your cooking, then you wont love those ready to eat foods.

Stouffer's is pretty good. We used to go to the Stouffer's outlet store in Cleveland (eons ago) and buy everything at a discount.

Frozen dinners are usually not bad but, of course, nothing beats home-made. Yeah, I suppose Chicken à la King don't come with noodles like those, however the dish in the picture makes me hungry nevertheless.

Now there aren't any left in the freezer. I'll beg Jay, not to ever buy them again! The sodium level is through the ceiling, high

I don't buy frozen meals like that unless we know we are going to be super busy with something and won't have that much time to cook. But I have gotten to the point now if I know we'll be busy when I make meals I make extra and put the extra in the freezer so we can reheat them, I love home cooked so much more.

I have been eating a lot of chicken and fish lately, it's much healthier than beef or pork.
