Saca-fraca-racka-perkalooma!!!!
Oh, those wacky people at the Veterans Affairs hospital.
So, I have a PT appointment this morning, right? I mean, I hadn't been seen since before the new year, thanks to covid.
But finally I'm fully vaccinated and things are open at the hospital, so I can get some help for my back and leg!
Um.....no.
(Take it away, Yosemite Sam.....)
My primary care doctor, who's now at another clinic and no longer my doctor (meaning I don't have a primary care doctor right now...talk to me, Yosemite Sam....), wrote my physical therapy referral for my shoulder.
That was two years ago.
NO. They could NOT see me for my back today. Nor my leg. Nor for the catch in my groin.
I was plum SOL (completely outta luck
).
So....
I have to go find a substitute primary care doctor to write another referral for PT. Then wait a month or three for them to find me an appointment.
"Thank you for your service," indeed.
O R . . .
I can take my Blue Cross insurance card, walk into any "civilian" (non-VA) physical therapy clinic tomorrow morning, and have an appointment, if not be seen right then and there.
Talk to me, Sam.....
).

i would go with VA situation normal (SNAFU) if Mylot let's that through.
seems bad to me, that those who served, are not served by the system built to serve those who served
(say that sentence underwater twice)

You didn't spell out what SNAFU means so you're ok with the censors...

As long as you say “situation normal, all fouled up.”
I remember Carson mentioning that one night, and he said (he was in the Navy), “We never said fouled up when we said that.”

I always point to stuff like this when telling someone to think the notion of government health care through.

It's a shame you have so much SNAFU at the VA.
Maybe you should use your Blue Cross and get the physical therapy you need quicker

It happens every time there’s a president change (regardless of political party). I think they start seeing how far they can push the new Secretary of Veterans Affairs.

@FourWalls I agree but it's difficult if you're relying on the VA. Seems as if we should be making vets a priority.

That's the usual way things go, isn't it? Hope you can get another appointment soon.

I really expect nothing less from them. And when you expect nothing, you’re rarely disappointed. Especially with the government.

Thanks. I got a call from the clinic this morning. I have to go get my back and hips x-rayed to see what’s going on.

If you can have it covered under Blue Cross, I suggest you do that. Two years is too long to go without treatment.
