Stranded.

Hubby was stranded last night in going home. The small creek that you need to pass to get to our place suddenly overflowed last when the sudden heavy rain caused the water there to increase quickly. The last time that creek overflowed was 2009 when we had that really strong typhoon. They said the flood water is knee deep. But the moment the rain stopped or lessen, the floodwater quickly goes down.

Oh my, glad to know it didn't get worse. I remember watching news about the typhoon when it happened. Stay safe!

@rakski Yes very heavy rainfall can cause that to happen.

It must have been rough for you hubby. I have experienced that when I was studying in Manila. I hope he gets home safe. It is raining non stop since last night. Finally it abated.

I do not live in streams but I do live near drains which when it rains heavily overflow and smell bad, fortunately I am not near them but I see that even galapagos come from there.

@rakski understand people who live in creeks, streams or rivers, even here in the city people who live near drains have found snakes and alligators in their own backyard. Without forgetting that when they overflow the houses flood.

The largest flood in this area was years ago. I was almost stranded as well as I was at work at the time. My uncle called me to come home quickly as the water level was rising and the rain didn't stop. I had to drive over water a couple of time. It's almost knee deep at the time and the water flow was not strong yet. I don't think I want to do something crazy like that anymore.

Was that Ondoy in 2009?
The weather here is still a bit gloomy... I hope it will not rain today...
