Irregular working hours

Good morning mylot,
Its just early morning here. I had planned to spend this weekend with my family as I'm supposed to be off duty.
But my boss called me just last night that I'm supposed to report to work today as my colleague will be absent because he has a problem with the family.
I was quite unhappy at that moment but later I just calm down since I'm helping my friend who helped me when I was put in quarantine.
You know the number of nurses and doctors has reduced here since some are infected with covid, so we are having some irregular working hours for us who have remained.
So I have to prepare and leave soon.
Have you ever had irregular working hours at your work?

When I used to work, yes. Late meetings and such. Even had to stay until midnight for one of the events my department was hosting.
