their music is too loud!

Somewhere in my neighborhood, a neighbor is blaring their music loudly with way too much bass. I can appreciate loud music as much as anyone else, but if your music is rattling my windows and is giving me a headache while my windows are all closed, please turn down your volume... or at least your bass levels. Please.

If this is an ongoing issue, then you might want to report it. Keep in mind that noise ordinances still apply in daytime hours if the noise is abnormally loud or prolonged. Search local ordinances where you live and see if they apply.

It's not an ongoing issue, at least not like this. Someone nearby to the offender must have complained, as the music is much quieter now.

@spiderdust I'm almost 60 and still rock out once in a while. It's usually in my truck because my wife always tells me to turn it down if I crank the stereo at home lol.

@Vikingswest1 I'll turn it up in my room if I'm the only one in there (or if someone who appreciates the music is in there). At work, I usually wear one earbud so I can hear the music, but also hear my coworkers when they need me.

You can report this matter to the authorities if it's already disturbing you.

Not at this point as it's not "quiet hours" at the moment.

Do you know who's doing it? You can always go and ask them.

I do not. It's somewhere in the neighborhood, but not on my street.

Loud bass levels cause accelerated heart beat rate, I would ring at the door and ask to turn down the volume.

@spiderdust The so called "disco music" is forbidden if it can be an annoyance for the neighbors. We can call the police, they check which is the offending party.

I didn't know which house was doing this. It was close enough for me to hear it, but it was unclear where the offending party actually lived.

I agree. People need to turn it down in summer.

I hate that so much! There is a house a couple streets over that has parties often . . . and they had a live band there this early evening. Sometimes that house go on for hours with their loud music . . . but sounds like they stopped finally. They have mics and MCs there - it's crazy that we can hear them all the way here . EDIT: Argh - they just started up their loud singing again!!!!!!!!!

I was on FB before coming here and I just saw a post of my aunt complaining of neighbors having loud karaoke time at night. She is sick and she badly needs her sleep. Some people are just so inconsiderate.

In my country the law indicates that a person can be arrested if a neighbor complains of exaggerated high volume, this is considered "sonic contamination". Or you can pay a very high fine in addition to the charge of disturbance to public order and citizen peace.
