I did some yardwork

Yes, the yard work included mowing. It encompassed cutting out small trees. I also watered some things in the front.
As I watered, I knew that if anything could bring rain, that would do it.
I do not see any rain, but the temperature took a drastic drop in less than two hours. It feels pretty good.
I often feel like if I give up and water we are sure to get rain. For other people it comes if they wash their car.

We had rain on and off for some days and now it is drying up again and we are getting that hot tropical heat in Florida,

I guess watering things is the equivalent of a rain dance..

It was supposed to rain here, with lightning yet, but it didn't, so I watered my garden, too

@GardenGerty I was talking to a neighbor yesterday while she was watering her garden and she said, "Now watch, it'll rain tomorrow" and it did. Quite a bit, actually.

My back yard has been neglected most of this season. It is beginning to be decent.

@sallypup I really want to scream in mine, but it is what it is. When we bouhght the house it was all brown. Green weeds are better. It does have some lovely cool shady spots.

No, it did not. It does cool down the outside temperature at least around the house.

@GardenGerty We missed the afternoon showers here today but tomorrow looks like a different story with a good bit of rain coming down. I'll have to put it in high gear to get all my outside work done before the rain hits.

We've been getting rain around 3 am every morning the last four or five days. It's over by 6 am.
We need the rain to hold off for two days so the grass is dry enough we can mow here.

Even the dew here makes the grass awfully wet. It clumps up under the mower.

@GardenGerty Yup! Here, too. Our front yard isn't shaded, so we can mow it as soon as the grass dries. But we have so many trees in the back yard we have to wait a day or two before we can mow back there. I'll mow one half of it in the early afternoon, so the battery has time to recharge and Pretty can mow the rest before it gets dark.

@GardenGerty We have not had rains last 24 hours and we hope this dry spell lasts for a couple of days more so that the areas that were flooded dry out a litte.
